My family, the control freaks

Particularly my mother as most of you know that I don’t have a good relationship with because I dislike her with a passion for those who have read my other thread entitled ‘Brother problems’.

I had a perfectly valid reason to sell most of my stuff that I no longer use otherwise it’s going to be stuck in my bedroom as a useless ornament. This evening, I sold my Xbox One Controller to someone from Facebook Marketplace. Came home after personally delivering it to them to a barrage of abuse from her saying: ‘I’m thick as f*ck’ for selling it for £20 insinuating that I shouldn’t sell my things, that I bought with my HARD EARNED CASH.

Then she had the cheek to say ‘Don’t be selling any of your brothers games either’. Would I hell, like grow up. I think she’s not all there in the head and don’t care what anyone says about they are probably looking out for me as there’s no need for this at all!

She annoys me to death! </rant>

Have you taken any of our previous advice about seeking support from a trusted manager at work, speaking with your GP and/ or social services?

There's no doubting that your mum is not acting in your best interests (and the issues are far bigger than this incident), but only you can change your situation.

    Hi IAmWelsh.

I have not spoke about the major incident about her disputable acts of fraud to a professional because am worried in case she throws me out the house, so I’m therefore waiting to save up and get my own flat then go full pelt and expose her.

Whilst I’m at it, for the sake of my mental health I’ll disown her too. Also, what is most shocking is that she had to ask me how much I get for PIP which says it all.

Believe me, your mother is not going to "throw you out" - why should she kill the goose that lays the golden egg? You are paying her (overpaying her) rent, housekeeping. And even if she did, with your health problems, you would be able to get assistance in finding better accommodation - than you presently have. Have confidence in yourself, Aaron x

I'm inclined to agree Aaron .

This is probably not the best time of the year to try and sort everything out but I think you should make it your New Year's Resolution to deal with it.

Sorry, but I know nothing about X-box so I don't know whether the price you got is fair. Maybe that's why she went off on one?
