7 YR old with fuzzy eyes/double vision hospital cannot find anything wrong

I have this problem and I cant remember what it is called. The optician has put "prisms" in my lenses and I can see a single version of the object I am looking at if it is directly ahead of me and my head is straight but if I tilt my head or look at something at an angle I see double even with my glasses. I know there is a temporary solution for this by using "botox" injections every 6 - 8 weeks. It is variable because my eyes can compensate more or less at different times depending on how tired I am etc.
Your son may find it helps to use a patch over one eye at times when his double vision is very bad by reducing the stress on his eyes by using one or the other instead of trying to work around the double vision he will be able to avoid some of the associated headaches he could otherwise get from it.
When reading see if you can persuade him to sit at a table to read the book and use a blank page to underline each sentance as he is reading it and if he still has issues with the words drifting make an envelope slit in a blank page so he can only see one line at a time so there no words to drift up and down the page the only issue will be with words floating from side to side. Sorry if this makes little sense its very hard to explain that one object will move or float but another will stay in the same place. (its something to do with one eye superimposing the image it sees over the image recieved by the other eye)
I hope this helps a bit.0 -
Thanks for all your advice ,I have an appointment with a optition who deals with the coloured glasses side of things today.
An example of my sons eyes is this ; when looking at a word in a book ,if he blinks it stays fuzzy ,if he looks away and then back at the book it is clear then goes back fuzzy.
I have looked at the possibility of dyslexia as my nephew has it and dspraxia also hubbys son had one on one at school from year 2. I made school aware of this and he is on school action but their not overly concerned.0
