Thanks. It's good to understand all the ways in which something like this can end up being a bad deal. I wonder if there is the need to improve the MSE guide to PCPs with a few more cautionary notes?

Sorry to add to this thread I cannot seem to find how to start a new question, not sure if anyone here can help with my dilemma.
I signed a PCP agreement on Friday 29th Dec with Audi, upon checking the paperwork I noticed that the mileage had been put though for 8000 per annum not 10000 as I had requested. I called the dealer to query and the salesman stated he would call me back and did not.
I realised that this was not the deal I wanted (high cost etc) and called the salesman first thing on Sunday morning and sent an email to Audi finance. The salesman advised that he was not sure if the contract could be cancelled and would enquire on my behalf.
Long story short - Audi finance have paid out for the vehicle, the dealership have cancelled the payout to settlement the finance on my car which I was trading in and the dealership are now stating that they now have a pre-registered car which they will be stuck with.
I contacted Audi finance who have advised that the dealership made an error and that I should not have signed for the new vehicle as I was not due to take ownership until tomorrow and it certainly should not be live on their computer system accruing interest.
I suspect the dealership have been trying to "take there time" so that the 14 day period passes...
Do I have a leg to stand on if the dealership refuse to refund the money back to Audi

So you've not picked the car up yet? Then go to the dealership tomorrow and negotiate a deal to take into account the increase mileage costs, based on the excess mileage charges as per the agreement. If they don;t want to play ball simply pull out of the sale and cancel the finance.0
