Thank you all for your suggestions, I'll try all of them eventually!

In the meantime, can anyone recommend crumbless biccies? xx

You could use a full size keyboard and buy 1 of them covers that goes over the keyboard to prevemt crumbs getting in between the cracks.

    Hmm interesting.
I always use a can of air with the keyboard upside down ..

The "moisture" you describe is just liquid flurocarbon, which evaporates in seconds

It's the pressure which can cause problems Andypix: blowing the micro-drops into the KB internals at pressure. Even if it does evaporate in seconds, damage to a PCB inside the KB, can begin within nanoseconds. There is also concern growing about the adverse health effects of Fluorocarbon, especially upon children:

I use only Isopropyl alcohol now for most computer & component cleaning. If I use a spray can, it would be simply air and I would not use that on a keyboard, for the same pressure-impact reasons.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

puppypants, the gas will make the surface cold for some time. This will extract water vapour out of the air.

just think of the effect when removing a can of drink from the fridge it soon attracts moisture when left in open air.

DCFC79: Don;t those covers cost more than a cheap keyboard, and make the keys feel worse than a cheap keyboard?
