The issues on your laptop are mort likely caused by malware (Unwanted software that you havent intentionally installed)
Run the following free programs in order.

Husband says both the laptop and the smart tv have issues. We do have a licence just husband was thinking of not renewing it as I don't watch tv at all (and he only watches the soaps :eek:)0

He is now wondering if the problem is with the smart tv DCFC79. It's a Samsung and we have heard they are not the best. He doesn't understand how to update it and keeps losing channels. It's really too complicated for me. He says he might buy the Fire stick thingy and if it doesn't work then he can keep it for when we get another tv. Thanks so much to all for your help xx0

All versions connects via wifi to your router unless have the box type where an additional ethernet cable adaptor can be added doing away with wifi.

Normally they auto switch if put in the correct hdmi slot.
Powering on from mains and wifi can take 3 minutes. From sleep mode its pretty instant.0 -

The TV is a 4000 model but I've been into the menu and it says no updates available.0
