Im not manky for only doing mine every 2 weeks am I lol.

Just I think being a single person towels are used to dry my clean body then hung in warmest room in house so they dont get damp and smelly,

Bed sheets don't stink or make me itch that beind said the first sign of a itch I chuck them in wash.

No, I change bed sheets fortnightly, towels when deemed necessary but always when I clean the bathroom -which is every 7-10 days.

Towels are changed more frequently in the summer as they don't dry as quickly when rads are not on..
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • In this flat(which we only moved into in September and it's the first time both my partner and I have moved into a place of our own) bedsheets are taken off, washed, dried in the washer dryer and put back on the bed on Fridays(I did have another set but lost half of it when we moved - mum said it's not at her place still). I choose Friday as I don't work weekends so it's nice to have a fresh bed for the weekend.

All towels are washed and dried in the washer dryer when they start to smell(usually after about 10 days or so). We only have 1 set - one massive bath sheet to share, 2 largish ones(for hair) and 2 hand towels.

All outside jackets/coats etc aren't usually washed until the seasons change and we move on to a bigger/heavier or thinner/lighter outerwear. I will however wash one if it does get dirty for some reason(usually bird poo is the culprit! :rotfl: ). Haven't had to change over anything yet so can't comment on how I'll dry it etc.

My partner is out of work right now so he can get away with wearing clothes for a couple days as he doesn't stink like that. My job isn't very strenuous at all so I can also eke out 1 set of work clothes to last a couple days(unless I do get dirty, or I get wet due to weather). I change into them just before I leave and change straight out of them(they get folded and placed neatly out of the way somewhere) into lounge gear when I get in in the evenings. I change my bras as often as my work clothes. All underwear is changed every day without fail.

We just put our dirty clothes straight in the washer dryer as soon as we're done with it. I will do a wash on a Friday evening without fail, and a midweek wash on a Tuesday evening if there is enough there to be done. Unlike towels/bedhseets etc, normal clothes gets put on an airer over the bath to dry :o

Don't forget, re bedsheets... if you've got a double bed you just need to change sides, no need to wash the sheets if you've not slept on the other side of the bed, just move over a bit!

Sheets once a week, pillowcases twice a week. Towels every couple of days.

Tea towels -clean one every day, then 90 degree wash once a fortnight.

  • I clean them about every three days. I clean my pillowcase every other day as sometimes I fall asleep without taking my makeup off.:o

My bedding gets washed a lot less than once every two weeks, once every couple of months more like it unless it actually gets dirty.

My pj's get washed every week though.

Bath towels only get washed when dirty or start to smell.

Even the kid's beds don't need washing very often.

We don't eat in bed, have non manual jobs and often bath before bed.

I'm curious why people choose to wash their bedding every week or so if they don't have manual/mucky jobs/hobbies or don't sweat a lot. Is it just because you've always done so and can't imagine not?

You sweat on average 200ml per person per night, there is no way I'm willing to sleep in a bed that has been subjected to 400ml each night for days on end, just as I wouldn't wear sweat soaked clothes.

I believe you may have been misinformed GwylinT. 200ml water loss in 8 hours of sleep appears to be correct but the majority is lost through exhalation not actual body sweat. Though if you sleep face down and drool.............lovely
