Paying bank fee if using Resolver

I had a mortgage with Girobank who were taken over by Alliance an Leicester ( from whom I had two loans). All three were paid off before Santander took over and I only kept paperwork for 7 years.
I wrote to Santander re PPI and they demanded a £10.00 fee before writing back to say they did not keep details of old transactions. Is it worth reapplying via Resolver and how would the fee be paid? Can anyone advise please?

Why would you use resolver? Deal direct with the bank.
Why did you ask for old transactions?
Best thing to do is ask them if you had PPI. Short and simple and you will get a response that costs you nothing.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). They asked you for ten pounds because you asked them for a SAR, which costs ten pounds.
Do as above, phone and ask first, if they have no info, then do the SAR.
However, your mortgage PPI may well have been set up as a monthly fee, in which case, Santander will have no record.
Who did you pay to cover your mortgage?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
