Britannia parking

I need some help. Around 6 months ago Britannia wrote to my old address saying that I owed thousands of pounds in unpaid parking tickets. I was so shocked! I'd not even had a ticket left on the car,not even one. They argued relentlessly saying tbey had copies (although no proof they were on my car or that my cat breached any restrictions) . They became extremely threatening via a debt collector.!
They said I'd get an attachment on my earnings and debt collectors would take my this is away.!
They offered me to settle the debt by reducing it to.£880.!
I was petrified at this stage and accepted. They said I had to pay £74 a month. I made two payments but I couldn't keep it up. They didn't check I could afford the high repayment.!
I made an agreement to reduce it to £40 but I could o my afford £10. My next payment of £40 is due on the 14th of this month.!
Last week I received another threatening email from Britannias debt collectors saying g they are taking me to court and so on. I've asked them how much I owe and they made up a figure which was higher than I do owe. This made me even more worried. Now I can see reviews that they are cowboys but I'm really scared not to pay, I'm scared they will take me to court a d attach the debt to my earnings. Please can anyone offer advice? For info it's 656 outstanding

Oh GOD why on earth did you agree to pay? What t&cs did you sign, exactly?
You should have ignored them and if they tried a claim, beaten them (Britannia are not known for court). Even if they won - and 99% of people here win when defending a claim v a PPC - you wouldn't have had to pay that stupid amount!
No CCJ, no attachment of earnings rubbish, nothing would have happened.it's 656 outstanding
No, there is nothing owed. You've been mugged.
Show us what you signed, what you agreed to...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Re: Britannia Parking
My client has instructed me that they would be prepared to accept the sum of £888.00 to be paid by 12 monthly instalments of £74.00 per month, with the first payment to be made by 30 April 2017 and each subsequent payment to be made by the last day of each month thereafter.
This offer is open to you for acceptance for 7 days from the date of this email, after which it should be considered withdrawn.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew Morgan0 -
What did you mail back in reply?0

Re: Britannia Parking
I can confirm that a county court claim has not yet been issued against you.
I have spoken to my client who have instructed me that in an effort to avoid the time and expense of a county court claim being issued, they are prepared to accept the sum of £880.00 (being £40.00 per parking charge notice issued, the original value), to be paid in a lump sum within 14 days of acceptance, in full settlement of their claim.
This offer is open to you for acceptance for 7 days, after which it should be considered withdrawn. I can confirm that if this offer is not accepted, my client has instructed me to issue a claim to recover the sums due.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew Morgan0 -
It is what you said to them that is important. Did you reply to that mail and if you did what EXACTLY did you say?0

Hi Andrew I can't pay it in full could I set up a payment plan?0
-
Hi Andrew, yes ok. If you send the bank details I will set up a direct debit0

That isn't good. If it went to court I can't see you standing a chance. In saying that Brittania don't tend to take people to court and they can't show that email in court as evidence as it is marked without prejudice.
You have 2 choices really. Pay it or sweat it out and see if they issue a claim.0
