Can I put a shed close to my wall?

I want to put a shed in my side alleyway, this will mean that a large area of my wall will have a shed wall about an inch away from it. The shed wall next to the wall will be 15ft long and 8ft high. The house is a 1980's brick house.
My wife is worried that having something that close to the wall may cause a damp issue as there will be very little airflow through the inch gap over the large area.
Is this something to worry about?
Thanks

Why would shed attract vermin?0 -
I should mention the shed would have a pent roof sloping away from the house wall.
Are you suggesting the vermin may like to live in the 1 inch gap?0 -
It was a thought . As I say, I’m probably wrong and obviously paranoid
I have no idea , but it depends on materials used etc.
Best to ignore what I said .:)0 -

Yes , that’s more or less what I as thinking of. . Sorry for the alarm I may have caused0 -
I'd do it. There's plenty of airflow in a 1" gap, that wouldn't worry me at all. In fact, the shed would prevent some rain falling on that outside wall - and restrict icy blasts some of the time too.
There won't be any more vermin than there is at present as a shed in itself won't attract them - what you do in/around the shed might attract them, but it's in your power to sort that out.
Personally I'd leave more than a 1" gap just because it's good to have space to "poke a stick" if things get trapped down there.... or just to be able to give it a coat of brown stuff every 3-5 years.0 -
We had a shed like that positioned along a house wall with only a couple of inches gap and never had any damp problems in the nine years we lived there.0

If getting that close what about using the wall for one of the shed walls?0

I would be pretty certain that a shed at that distance will cause damp problems. Even if the gap was clear, that's nowhere near enough for the house wall to dry. It will also collect crud, leaves, whatever, and block. Even a slight bow in the shed wall would cause problems.
It would be considerably less of a problem if you built it as a lean-to, with no space behind the construction. Mind you, even then, I would want to do a seriously good job with the wall/roof join, and ensure the structure remained dry,0 -
Whatever gap you leave, debris will get trapped in there - cans, bottles, paper, plastic cartons, leaves etc, either try and block the ends and top with chicken wire or consider how you are going to make it easier to get it out.0
