Is there a list anywhere of all electricity suppliers and their basic cost per Kilowatt for electricity? Without that how do we identify the cheapest supplier.

You find all that information from the comparison website, of which there are many. Just click on the supplier and details of the unit rate price will be given.
for example compare the market or uswitch or the MSE energy club.0 -
You use a price comparison site as there's no actual basic list. It depend on the supplier, where you live and they've all got different standing charges.
Just trying to get a basic list from one supplier is difficult enough let alone trying all the permutaions of tariffs, regions, s/c from all of them on one spreadsheet.
Just put your annual consumption into a comparison site and then sort through them. Dont look at how much you'll save, look at how much it will cost - you can then check the tariffs for those that you are interested in.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
The cost per kWh is of no relevance until combined with a daily charge and annual consumption. Only when you have all 3 can you find the cheapest supplier and that is precisely what the comparison sites do for you.0

Also suppliers have different limits (upper and lower) energy used per annum so will only accept your business if your usage is within those limits.0

I've never known any domestic supplier to have any lower limit, and the upper limit is generally so large not to affect 99.9% of domestic users.0 -
Daligas quote one countrywide kwh price for their gas. 2.75 p kwh and 21 pence a day fixed tariff. I used them last year and they were spot on all year.
Think I ve made a mistake leaving them TBH to go for a dual fuel tariff with a bit of cashback and discount which marginally pipped a separate supplier mix0 -
Will need to sort out the past years worth of bills before I can do the price comparision.0

Any two bills 12 months apart will do providong the readings are shown as ACTUALNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
