Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
I too have left the heat on low overnight, I turned it up when I got up. Our wet room is at the back of the house and is always cold despite the radiator being on.
Not sure what its like outside, I guess its pretty cold. The sun is out maybe some of the snow will melt.
Friends coming for tea, I made the lemon drizzle cake yesterday, will make a ring of scone this morning so they are fresh. I also cooked spag bol sauce, will have spag bol with garlic bread tonight.
I hope the weather has cleared tomorrow, we are going into Melton to catch up with DD2 and inspect her now finished kitchen.
OH is champing at the bit to get things put back in the shed, but its not going to happen today either......it will have to wait till the weekend, when hopefully the snow will have gone.0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread nmlc, thanks for the carol True, hugs to all those in need.
We are frozen in, no snow but the marina is solid ice. I thought I heard it freezing up last night, noise like a branch moving along the side of the boat.
I wonder if my car will start? Time will tell!
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Good morning one and all,
My goodness it's been cold. No snow, but I've yet to see the temperature in my car go above freezing.
I had a day off yesterday which in spent doing odds and ends and bought myself a Christmas tree from IKEA, a real one, for £25 with a £20 voucher. I also wrapped some of my presents and so my flat is now looking very festive for my first Christmas in my own place
I'm due a new car and so I need to stop by a garage on the way home to have a look at a car. I'm very picky about my cars. I know what I don't like and I change my mind on what I do like on a daily basis.
Hope everyone stays warm and safe today.0 -

Thanks for the carol. :j
Camelot
Thanks for asking. I have finally stopped sneezing and shivering but want to spoil myself for another day so I can volunteer tomorrow and go to WI on Thursday evening.
Had a delivery today and amongst other stuff some mini chocolate Santas have arrived for stockings. Sugar mice have been ordered as well. Most presents have arrived and I only have a few more things to wrap.
When writing cards later I might use the sticky labels I have to write addresses on then I don't ruin an envelope if I make a mistake.

I hope becky can be back and happier in herself soon. It is a lovely idea to check on your friend as well.

Hi all.
Well we're still snowed in. The schools are still closed, the buses aren't running and the bin men aren't coming today. Mind you I've only just found the bins and they are kept outside the back door . Some youngsters who have to go to work have unearthed their cars, but have thrown the snow back onto the pavements, so you have to walk on the road, taking your life in your hands. We are ok indoors warm and cosy, we will have to dig out tomorrow for the DR's appointment, but there is rain forecast for this evening so the snow might be gone by the morning. We shall see.
Didn't have a very good night as an ambulance arrived and took opposite neighbours mother and baby to hospital just after midnight. I lay awake worrying about them and got up at 3am. Silly really as I don't know them well but the mother had already miscarried last year, so I hope both are ok.
This morning I have put the WM on and made the turkey soup, which we had for lunch with some fresh bread. The soup was lovely, creamy and thick as we put it in the blender, but it felt like something was missing. I shall put the hoover on this afternoon, well that's the plan anyway. I was so workish yesterday that I changed the bed and washed and dried the bedding. But today meh !
Tea last night was sausage mash and onion gravy and with forward thinking I cooked some mince and with extra mash and gravy made two cottage pies too. One for tonight and one for the freezer, oooo get me, Mrs O'S.er :rotfl:
I shall ring dad tonight and if the snow hasn't cleared I shall go up tomorrow to clear his path as he's supposed to be going out for a Xmas lunch. I didn't want to do it earlier as he might take it in his head to go out and as he's not so good on his pins lately, I'm afraid he'll fall. As much as he drives me batty sometimes I don't want him to have a broken leg or worse. Mr Fix It will dig us out here tomorrow, although if it's too bad he will rearrange his diabetic review appointment for after Xmas.
Right I've waffled on enough and your'e probably bored silly so I wish you all a good day.
Specky Your 1st Xmas at home :j. Enjoy, enjoy
Nelski hope you have a good Morries trip.
TA I hope you are on the mend.
If anyone needs a hug please take one, the hug bucket is full.
Sorry I seem to have written an essay, so marks out of ten please :rotfl::rotfl:Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
10/10 nannywindow, you seem to be coping admirably in the bad weather ,the turkey soup sounds lovely,I find if my soup feeling like it need a bit of a kick I have some sweet chilli sauce which gives it some oomph or some chilli flakes, but I am keen on anything that is a bit spicy.
The cold thick frost has disappated, and the temprtue now is a scorching 5c
Hopefully it won't drop too much tonight when I go to quiz night,I must remember to take some deicer in my car with me for the windscreen.
Coffee morning was lovely and I had a huge hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows, the Dobbie loyalty card is so worth the £10.00 per year as you get two hots drinks of yourchoice per month and the hot chocolate this morning would have cost me £3.50 to buy
Just at DDs now waiting for the boys to come in from school, cold and hungry as per usual
no doubt.
Keep warm and dry chums its really winter time now

TA thinking of you, hope you are on the mend x
NW I really hope the mum and baby are ok.
And feel free to write an essay, I enjoyed reading so 10/10 and a gold star from me :staradmin
My bruises are rather prominent now and a lovely shade of black and blue. I think I fell more heavily than I realised as my hip is very stiff too. It was perhaps because I was half asleep that I didn't feel the full impact. The bump on my head is still tender.
I'm wrapped up in a big fleece blanket on the sofa feeling sorry for myself:o...nowt wrong with a bit of self-indulgence once in a while though, eh?
Hope everyone is having a good day, keeping warm and safe.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Afternoon all
Late one from me. Frosty this morning with -4 at 8.30 when DH went to get DGS. We had him for a half day as DD only had to work one session today. She came back to ours for lunch, then DH took them grocery shopping and home. Tomorrow we have DGS in the morning then drop him at nursery. It's his nativity play and we are going to see it with DD.
Well hugs to poorlies and those with worries today. Karcher hope your bumps and bruises feel better soon.
Keep warm folks and have a good evening.
