Thanks, well I just took rubbish out and checked, I notice even on the inside its not aligned right and where the bottom lock is, the wood around it is cracked.
On the inside with door closed and both locks I notice on the same area as the front its not aligned/pushed forward enough so a millimeter or so off a perfect alignment.0 -
You are right to report it, someone will come and look and decide whether there’s anything needs doing or not. You are not expected to be an expert yourself.0

It also looks like the door has been badly hung and/or been damaged at some point. Might someone have licked it for example, either before or after you moved in?
I would add that to your report, though the timeframe is unlikely to change. It's not an emergency.
Meanwhile, buy a0 -

Well spotted!

I lived for over five years in a rented Victorian conversion with picturesque but rickety sash windows through which the wind howled. I gave up putting the heating on for more than half an hour twice a day, as I was just paying to heat the garden. Instead I just wore a woolly hat indoors and lots of layers. I now live in a much better insulated house, but still only have the heating on for under two hours each day as I've got used to living like this. So it's saved me lots of money, but I do often find other people's houses uncomfortably hot.
If the door frame is looking warped the door will eventually get stuck in a closed or open position, so worth reporting, but it's hardly going to be on the Council's priority list. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
if the front door is into a hall get some sausages for the doors leading off the hall so those rooms stay warm.
For the sausage at the front door attach it to the door and runs some lifting string out through the letter box, then drop it into place once you shut the door.0 -
even cheaper, use a towel at bottom of door. It's not rigid so will go into gaps easier than a sausage dog draft excluder or similar0

They sent someone out today, turns out it was actually worse than I thought the actual door has warped as its the original door from 50 years ago, the lock wasn't catching right either which was the reason it was wobbling even when locked (though it was locking)
Hes contacting the council to put in for a new door, I doubt it will happen any time soon though and as long as its not a security risk and now the draughts been sorted (not sure if its the weather but he put a draught excluder on at same time and I can't feel any breeze now) in no hurry.0 -
Councils tend to have some kind of upgrade program for doors and windows these days, so you might find your property is already on the list for a new front and back doors.
Your report may well have just pushed you up the list.Never Knowingly Understood.
