Very complaint - help needed

My dad purchased an item from Very this time last month. He was given a time slot from the courier however the item never arrived. After lots of emails and phone calls it turns out the item was out of stock. As the item wasn't going to be in stock for a while he asked for the order to be cancelled.

He was told this was done on 20th November and it would take up to 2 weeks to show on his account (???). 3 weeks later it is still there. His account is now in arrears as payment has obviously not been made.

He's spoken to them on Live Chat, phoned them, sent emails. On the phone last week he was told this would be resolved within 48 hours... never happened. Emails have gone unanswered as have emails using the complaints form. He sent a message to the customer service team on Facebook on Friday which has been read but not answered.

Can anyone offer any advice on this? Is there anyone else we can contact higher up? He's very concerned this will effect his credit record. Had the item been received the account would have been paid off in full the same day.

I knew Very were bad, but not this bad. Will never use them again.
