Has your husband suffered "life changing" injuries, i.e. will part of the payment be down to future loss/expenses because of the injury?
If the answer is yes, he should speak to his solicitor now about setting up a trust - this will enable him to take advantage of any benefits available to him, but still "top-up" his actual requirements from the trust.0
