Invoice paid but want more money
Options
Hello I have a lease car through the nhs, someone hit my car and drove off and it needed repairing before it went back, it's been and had all it's work done and I paid my invoice. I have now had an emailing saying they printed my invoice wrong and want another £150. Can they do this?

Assuming 'they' are a garage and nothing to do with the lease.....
They can ask, you can say no. They can take you to court if they want the extra money but for £150 it's vanishingly unlikely.0 -
Yes 'they' are a garage. They have said the extra £150 is for excess I was just wondering if they were allowed to do this after I have already paid the invoice in full0
-
Excess what?
At the end of the day it's up to you. Both me and my wife use the same trusted local garage, if they made a mistake on an invoice I would probably pay the extra as I would be using them again. If it was a body shop I had no existing relationship with I probably wouldn't, their cockup and their problem.0 -
....insurance excess obviously. I had to go with that garage as it is lease car which I have previously stated. You can't just take a lease car wherever you like.
I only asked for advice, you're very rude0 -

Talk about the kettle calling the pot black (wgl2014's post was in no way rude at all), your initial posts were lacking in detail and you were drip feeding the information. Of course you can take a lease car wherever you like.
Maybe drop the attitude and give full details and people may be more inclined to help.0 -
Beth2606,
My advice is to moderate the tone of your posts. You were unclear with your use of "excess" in your post and I too was unsure what you meant. I cannot see anything rude by the other poster and indeed it is yourself coming across as rude.
Regards, Billy

you seem to be a very abrupt and rude to members on here that are ONLY trying to help you.:(
Typical I'm to late.0 -
I'm confused - surely you are either paying the full cost of the repairs or the insurance excess not apparently both?0
-
From "somebody" hit your car and "drove off", I presume you have no idea who they are - so the cost is on you and/or your insurer. If your insurer is paying the bill, then you need to pay the excess yourself. If the repairer were in error by not charging this to you, then - yes - you need to pay it.0
-
Rude, really?
If you post a vague question with limited info expect to be asked to clarify.
I wonder the same as Lucky Duck, what have you paid for if the insurance is covering the cost of repairs?0
