ArrowXL Couriers - Caught Out

Caught out by our super duper ringbell front door video thingy.

Ordered a washing machine online, delivery slot was 10.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs today, so took the day off work. Gets a text from them at 08.26 hrs this morning saying “we tried to deliver you weren’t at home” blah blah. I hadn’t heard anyone at the door, the dog hadn’t barked, checked the ringbell footage and the only person it saw this morning was the milkman.

Phones ArrowXL, they insisted they’d tried to deliver this morning so I explained about the camera on the front door ... tune changed suddenly to “oh it’s our mistake, it’s still in the warehouse and will be delivered next Tuesday”. Supervisor then summoned, I was polite but firm, he fessed up and said they didn’t have enough to fill a van for our area today so they’d put it off until next week.

Long story short it’s now coming tmorro, my old man will cover the delivery when I’m at work. I’d heard that couriers pull stunts like this all the time, nice to have caught them out.

Only annoyed that I’ve ewasted time off work, my boss says I can work at home this afternoon updating reports, nice boss, naughty ArrowXL :mad:

If you have paid for delivery,call them up and complain and ask for your delivery costs back.

Shame they had to be caught out before they admitted it was their fault / plan all along.

I've just installed cameras around my house, never thought it would be useful like this, but will bear in mind.

It's a bit like dashcams, you never know when you're [not ] being filmed these days; it's great to finally have tools to counter the liars and cheats.

If you've incurred a loss from taking the second day off then have a read of MSE's article on failed delivery. I would be looking for a refund of any delivery charge at the very least.
