Did I get a ticket?

Hi,
The driver recently came back to their car to find an empty plastic bag (same / similar kind to what you would expect if you've got a ticket) on their car. The driver thought that was odd as they don't believe any restrictions are in place but they wondered:
- how do they find out whether they've been given a ticket (deservedly or not)?
- will they also get a letter? (in which case the driver can just wait and see)
thanks!

Private car park, council car park, residential estate private road, public highway, or where?
Whether from a council or private parking company, a Letter should follow. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If it was a private car park, you need to read the Newbies Sticky and wait for an NTK - that's about all you can do for now but you will be fully informed when it happens.
If it was public, get thee to Pepipoo and read-up on what to do there.
Never make the mistake of contacting a PPC to see if you have got one. If your Keeper details are up to date with the DVLA, you will know soon enough.0 -
Was this a council or private car park? If private, what is the name of the PPC please?
If it was a private car park and a PCN had been attached to the car and is no longer there then the keeper should expect to receive a NTK through the post. All this is explained in the NEWBIES thread.
However, PPCs or person or persons unknown have (allegedly) been known to remove such things after the PPC operative has placed it there and taken a picture.
Have a good read of the NEWBIES thread whilst the keeper waits for something through the post.
Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper both on here and in any correspondence with the PPC. Never reveal the driver's identity. Edit your first post to rectify any such assumption.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Sounds like a kid larking about, if the car was legitimately parked.
You can't find out, except by waiting for a NTO which must be sent to the owner within 6 months (usually much sooner). As long as you are the owner, just wait.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
