Bank for children using Post Office

I'm looking for a bank/savings account for children that can be used by going into the Post Office.
Our small town has no bank branch other than an RBS open for 10 hours weekly so I think we're limited to using the Post Office.
We give our children pocket money and £1 of that has to be saved and I want them to actually go to the Post Office and pay it in.
It won't be large amounts, just this £1 weekly and the odd payment from birthday or Christmas money.

How old are your children? HSBC offer an account with a card to 11 year olds, which can be used at the Post Office to pay in. Barclays is another option.
Some banks still need you to use a paying in slip at the Post Office, which is a faff.0 -
Oldest is 10, youngest is 4.
Not too bothered about a paying in slip although obviously a card would be easier.0 -
Just to note that some if not all post office branches require a pre-printed deposit slip and envelope and in that case books of deposit slips and envelopes can be obtained from your bank.
i.e. TSB

Pick whichever account looks best then do a google search to see if the Post Office support them. If they don't, choose the next one.
Every major bank allows Post Office pay ins, building societies less so (Nationwide is probably the biggest account provider who wont allow Post Office pay ins).0
