Hampshire Trust Bank

Options
Never seems to appear in best buys that I can see.
I have a 30 day notice account paying 1.65%.
Still way below inflation but it’s the best easy / short term access account I have found.

Apart from current accounts and regular savers that pay up to 5%. Unless you have tens of thousands you can probably get better rates with those
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Are you sure it's 1.65%? It says 1.45% on the website for the 90 (not 30) day notice account - - and even that sounds wrong, as it's also the rate for their 1 year Bond. I couldn't find a 30-day notice account - - do you have a link? Is yours an issue that's now withdrawn?

I have always found Hampshire Trust Bank to be very good. They are one of the few banks who passed on the full base rate rise.

Then it would have been helpful if OP had mentioned that in their post:cool:
  • Yes, sorry. The 1.65% was for my pre-existing account.
1.45% is still pretty competitive though.

Except they have now corrected the obvious error on their website and the rate for 90-day notice account is 1.25%. You need to lock your money away for 12 months if you want 1.45% from them.

1.45% for 1yr account is OK bu not that competitive - you can get 1.85% from eg Atom bank

Several other banks are still offering 1.4/1.45 for 90 days
