I cleaned & lubricated the hinges of my bathroom top-hung window the other day. First time in 20 years! Looks a bit like:

It now opens/closes smoothly and easily. Too easily!
If I push it open ajar ie just a small crack for air, it slides fully open by itself, letting in a gale. It now has only two possible positions: Fully open and fully closed.
Short of bunging up the hinges with dirt and muck again, what can I do?

Some of them have small screws you can tighten to create a little friction. Worth a closer look!0

Get one of the above restrictors, , more reliable than grease, and better security as well.

I'll look for screws(couldn't see any while I was cleaning) in a few days when the weather warms up!
Will investigate the restrictor, but would need one that also allows the window to fully open eg in summer.0 -

yup, the linked one has a key to disengage the lock to fully open it.0
