Maintenance too good

Options
I cleaned & lubricated the hinges of my bathroom top-hung window the other day. First time in 20 years! Looks a bit like:

th?id=OIP.Pz0xNH-s74k79fTJknpArwEsDW&w=295&h=211&c=7&qlt=90&o=4&pid=1.7

It now opens/closes smoothly and easily. Too easily!

If I push it open ajar ie just a small crack for air, it slides fully open by itself, letting in a gale. It now has only two possible positions: Fully open and fully closed.

Short of bunging up the hinges with dirt and muck again, what can I do?

Some of them have small screws you can tighten to create a little friction. Worth a closer look!

Get one of the above restrictors, , more reliable than grease, and better security as well.

    other sizes/ designs are available,

    Cheers guys.

I'll look for screws(couldn't see any while I was cleaning) in a few days when the weather warms up!

Will investigate the restrictor, but would need one that also allows the window to fully open eg in summer.

yup, the linked one has a key to disengage the lock to fully open it.
