also the 1.0 eco boost engines and not that relaible (google it)
Well mine is absolutely fine and I have no personal experience of anyone else who owns one having an issue. Just because a few people should loudly because they have had a problem doesn't mean it's widespread.
As for space and visibility problems, neither have been an issue for me and I've been driving Fiestas for the last 5 years, doing over 80,000 miles.
On the cat question, I bought a Puma new in 2000 and it was one of the best cars I ever owned. Such a shame Ford don't make anything like that now, although I suspect they made a whacking loss on each one.0 -

We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

These seem to relate to a problem on models much older than a 66 plate, which the OP is looking at. It's still under manufacturers warranty for another 2 years anyway.
I'd personally get the Fiesta all day long, purely for the EcoBoost as it gives you fantastic performance for a small engine. Plus lower monthly payments and lower final payment. Only thing against it for me would be the outdated tech inside so you might get bored quicker.
Got to be honest though, with £2500 to spend on a deposit plus a part ex, if this car is just going to be a local run around i'd be getting something a bit older on a HP deal or with a personal loan so I own it at the end. You aren't getting caught in the PCP trap then, chances are in 3 years time you won't want to fork out £4700 on a car you will be long bored of... so it'll be back to the dealer for another 3 years of monthly payments.0 -
My grumbles about my 3 door Fiesta (with the 1.25 litre engine) are that the fashionably small back windows make reversing more difficult, and it's a bit claustrophobic for rear-seat passengers. The 5 door version should be better in both respects. Apart from that, I have no complaints.0

To go back to questions in the original post.
I would suggest that the firmer seats on the VW would actually be more comfortable and give more support on a long journey.
I can't speak from experience for the Ford ones, but soft seats can often lead to poor posture0 -
I dislike soft and unsupportive seats, and I've found the Fiesta ones absolutely fine - I think anything firmer might well be uncomfortable.0
