Thanks everyone for your ideas. The rooms are next to each other . The kitchen is like a little corridor with cabinets on one side. No room for more than one person. I think I will contact plumber first .

    Cheers
  • Whatever you do, do not get kitchen from Ikea! I am in dispute with them, had a Ikea kitchen 3 years and the plastic coating is peeling off the door corners. The 25 year guarantee is worthless as when the kitchen deteriorates they say it is wear and tear and refuse to compensate you. So save yourself a lot of stress and money and buy elsewhere
  • If you are needing pipework elecitrical work and the kitchen fitted I would seek out a building contractor who can do everything. That was what we did but we're going through a reno of the house we bought. Discuss the whole thing as a package and see who they suggest as a supplier. Our builder suggested Howdens and they have an October sale every year, in which we got a great deal. They are trade only so you need to go through your builder. In our previous place we had a B&Q kitchen which was good but the kitchen we got in the Howdens sale is twice the side, much superior in quality and only cost us a little bit more than the B&Q one.

Alot of builders we spoke to say they refuse to fit Ikea kitchens because some of them don't have space behind for pipes and electrical runs which make them a pain to install.
