Refurbished breadmaker broken after 17 months

I bought a refurbished breadmaker last year from Lakeland on Ebay. I haven't used it very much. It has just broken, 17 months after purchase. I contacted Lakeland and they say because it was refurbished it only had a 1 year guarantee and that's expired so tough!

The same as with any product that is in excess of 6 months old. Get an independent report stating the item was inherently faulty and exert your consumer rights.0

Goods sold by businesses to consumers are expected to have a reasonable life but for this expected life, the price paid can be taken in to account.0 -
