Will lender accept indemnity insurance

Our house has failed the environmental search, it says possible contaminated land, I think due to a building that has recently been demolished at the back of us ( possible asbestos?) we have put indemnity insurance in place and our buyers solicitor has ran it past the lender ( Halifax) has anyone had anything like this? It’s so worrying and their solicitor is useless

Where did the suggestion of "possible asbestos" come from? Does any actually know that the building contained asbestos? If so, does anybody have reason to suspect there was something improper about the methods they used to demolish it? Unless the answer to both is "yes" I can't see a reason for even getting insurance.0

That was just what our solicitor said. It was just a guess I think. It was a council owned building & online said if it was found to contain asbestos it would be dealt with according to all the regulations which it listed. Our solicitor said we had to have indemnity insurance to carry on with the sale0

At the very worst there might have been some asbestos dust which had blown onto your garden or roof. I doubt that anyone would even be able to detect that, never mind suffer ill-effects from it. It might have been more of a concern if the demolition was being carried out in the future, and the residents were then breathing in the dust - but even that's a tiny risk. I've never heard of "the neighbours might have asbestos" insurance.
So in answer to your question, I very much doubt that the lenders care.0 -

I’m not sure what was there before then, but the whole area was farm land years ago apparently. Nothing came up on the searches when we bought the house 11 years ago ( that I can remember)0
