Any dishwasher experts in the house??

Was visiting some elderly relatives this morning and it turns out that they’re finding the washing up increasingly a chore. Have in principle offered to buy them a dishwasher for Christmas.
They have a very small kitchen which comprises of a washing machine then the sink unit with the draining board then the hob with oven underneath.
The only place the dishwasher can go is under the draining board right next to the oven. Is that O.K?
To my untrained eye I can see a water connection and drainage point within easy reach, but no electrical socket.
So, with there being an electric oven and washing machine already there would putting a socket in be a big job? Also the cabinet would have to be removed again is that a big job? What would a likely cost be for a London property. I’m guessing that freestanding dishwashers are made to standard size cabinets ie. any standard dishwasher will automatically fit into the cabinet space?
Would it need a plumber or an electrician or both to get this space ready ie water, waste and power for the delivery company to just deliver & install the dishwasher?
Want to get the dishwasher in the January sales would it be silly to buy the dishwasher before all the work was done?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Just the two of them?
you can get compact table top standalone dishwashers.

That was my first thought until I actually saw one.... they are huge!0 -
I think at 55cm wide they will fit in the cabinet so much less work, just take the door off and stick a shelf in.0

If space is at a premium go for a slimline model. It will be more than adequate for a couple.0

Whether a slimline would be big enough would depend on how much 'from scratch' cooking they do.
There's just OH and I, but we cook most meals from scratch, with all the attendant pans and whatnot. I only put the dishwasher on when it's full - but it's on every night. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
OP, you'd best get a quote from a kitchen fitter. I'd budget for £2500

We bought a counter top dishwasher (with the buttons on the front) and put it under our draining rack. It does us quite nicely (2 adults, 2 children ). It goes on once or twice a day.0

All you need is to remove the carcass, slot in the freestanding d/w, plug it into existing w/m socket. Then connect into the existing sink waste with a tee. The only other thing required is a spur of the existing cold supply. Half a day for a kitchen fitter. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

A couple of mentions for a kitchen fitter but whereas plumbers are 10 a penny kitchen fitters not so much. What's the best way of finding a kitchen fitter?
As this job is only a couple? of hours is anyone going to want to mess up an entire day for this small job?0
