Parking Eye Charge

Hi to all, you guys do some great work on here with regards to these charges and the stickies here are full of top information.

My case is that I received a letter of reminder, which I thought was strange because I hadn't received a PCN to be reminded about in the first place.

They say the date of the offence was almost a month before, so surely something's off there? I have now received a "final notice".

So my question is which route should I take?

Would my best course of action be to contact the relevant person in the organisation and explain that as the registered keeper I have received a PCN and get them to force PE to cancel it?

I have also read people have been successful going down this route with this particular business.

Or should I follow the appeal process for a BPA company as laid out in the sticky? Although I'm not sure if this would be possible because I think the appeal date has passed (although they say they'll accept appeals at this stage due to mitigating circumstances).

Another thing I noticed, on their online appeal process, there is an option to state why you're appealing and one of the options is "I wasn't the driver". What happens when that defence is used? Because they can't force you to ID the driver AFAIK.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

edit the last post and remove any hint of who drove on the day

what happened on the day happened to THE DRIVER

anything since happened to THE KEEPER

THE KEEPER should use the blue text template as is on their website , appealing as keeper

and the KEEPER should ALWAYS complain to the business and try for a landowner cancellation
  • Thanks, much appreciated. So is there a template for the landowner cancellation or am I ok to just state that as the keeper I received a PCN reminder, but no initial correspondence to be reminded about and then explain that I wasn't actually the driver?

Landowner cancellation is a complaint - saying your family will never shop there again, etc. You will have seen examples already when you clicked on the first link in the NEWBIES thread, taking you to: 'successful complaints'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
