uaccount.uk letter

Hi All,

I've received a letter from this site with a debit card on it asking me to register to get my pin... I've never heard of them.

They're the trading name of https://www.ffrees.co.uk/login

A little concerned someone has been applying for stuff in my name, but also wonder whether this is just a marketing thing... anybody know?

The card is a prepaid master card, but it has my name on and a CVC, so it's a genuine card.

Thanks in advance

What does the letter say? Sometimes they'll mention that your application was accepted/approved or perhaps that their "partners" recommended you for the product (in other words, they're unsolicited/they're chancing their luck).
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
  • Well, I'd personally chuck it in the bin tbh....

    Looking at companies house...

They've actually had quite a few company names:

FFREES FAMILY FINANCE (GUARANTEED) LIMITED (08302589)

    Company status
    Dissolved

    FFREES FAMILY ACCOUNT LIMITED (08176833)

    Company status
    Dissolved

    FFREES FAMILY FINANCE LIMITED (07516554)

    Company status
    Active

That in itself is probably evidence enough to swerve this place (too many dissolved companies in the same address with similar names). If you read the website they are actually NOT regulated by the FCA either, but merely maybe act as a broker between you and a company who DO handle money.

Also, their recent accounts paint a bleak future:

See section 2.2 titled "Growing Concern"

You give them your money in any way, shape or form and there's a possibility that you'll never see it ever again.

As for the method of obtaining your information, they've most likely bought a database from a company (they do that a lot). Might explain why they have spent so much money on trade
