Problems with DPD parcel delivery

I have posted this in the eBay forum but perhaps it’s better here. I would be grateful for any help.
I was due a parcel delivery by DPD this morning. A Xmas present for my 10 year old. I have checked online and it says it was delivered and signed for by me. It wasn’t. I am in and have been in all morning.
I have tried to call but the phone is disconnected every time I get to the point I might speak to an actual person. I have also put in a complaint through the website.
What happens now? I can’t afford another of the same item and presumably the company I bought from are just going to say it’s delivered?

DPD have GPS tracking so it shouldn't be too hard for them to determine if the driver was actually there. Do you live in a block of flats or somewhere someone else could have signed for it?
I have always found them to be very good. There is no point speaking to DPD - you don't have a contract with them. Speak to the seller.0 -
No. It’s a house and I was literally at the door speaking to my ex husband at the time they are saying it was signed for! I have tweeted DPD. If that doesn’t help, I will go to the company I bought from.
Thanks.0 -

Thanks.
It won't help. You have no contract with DPD.
The person who sold you the item has a contract with DPD.
DPD could ignore your tweet, disconnect your call, throw your letter in the bin etc and it would be legal (albeit not professional).
You need to go to the seller of the item and explain that you did not receive the item. They can then initiate a lost item claim with DPD (to recover their money) and you claim the money from the seller (assuming everything runs smoothly).
ALSO, you've got eBay's protection and would be sensible in following their procedures RE: non delivery of items.
PS: You MAY be time-bound with eBay, so I would suggest that you look into this RIGHT NOW.0
