Hi my hubby had a incapacity fir work Face to face assessment in April this year, they failed him he appealed and it was overturned ...
3 weeks ago we filled the form in fir his PIP ( he had been in dla fir over 18 years .. received letter today to say he has to go for another face to face for this benefit to ... instead of the assessment for this PIP being in our local town like previous the assessment is in a different town 😢😢 is there a reason why this is ?
My hubby has physical disibility aswell as anxiety and depression and doesn't cope well with meeting new people or strange environments
They know this as it was put on the form too so why send Face to face assessment I a different town why not we're it has been in past locally
Any advice please

Then ring them and change the appointment. Think carefully before agreeing to the next one because you can only change it once.Hi my hubby had a incapacity fir work Face to face assessment in April this year, they failed him he appealed and it was overturned ...

The computer automatically sends out the next available appointment within their travel limits (from memory it's within 90 minutes but I could be wrong).
As Poppy said, you can phone and change it to a place near you but you have to keep that appointment.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
The most important thing you can do is research on the net how the PIP assessment works and how the assessors conduct them. Do not walk into these assessments niavie. The assessors will often come across as very nice and smiley - the aim of which is to break down your guard and say something that they will then wrtite down in their reports against your case. They are not your friends and their aim is not to be caring about your disability. Just answer the questions and try not to fill in the silences as they will be noting everything!
Here's a link to what they are scoring you on: https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-independence-payment-pip/pip-points-system
The other most important thing is to tell them you wish to record the assesment - this will involve you having to purchase two identical cassette tape recorders and c90 tapes (Argos). This is just an extra measure to ensure they don't tell porkies on thier assessment reports. Plus you can use a transcrip of the tape at a tribunal if it gets to that stage.
Please research the process and beware of how the assessment works!0 -

Have you recorded an assessment in this way? It's my understanding that it wouldn't be acceptable under the DWP rules.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Yes i have and you can as long as you give them notice that you wish to have the assesment recorded. Having experience of one assessors work of fiction on my report I would never do one again without recorded evidence. Google is your friend here - research!0

My understanding was that it had to be one machine doing two simultaneous recordings and that two machines wouldn't be allowed. Interesting to know that's not the case.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
