what is it on the roof

in House buying, renting & selling
I'm curious to know why there is a fainted patch on the left side of the roof. The roof is east facing and it has according to google map been like that for a while. There's no visible leaks inside so we are puzzled as to why it's like that. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Could be an artefact of how the local winds make it difficult for moss/lichen to settle on the edge part of the roof. Are other houses in the immediate area the same ?

    And then someone notices what has been dumped by sitting things and goes at the roof with a power water clean thing that takes the dumped stuff and everything else off the surface of the tiles?

    Looking at google satellite, some other other houses have lichen and moss under TV aerials - probably due to birds.

    However, it's less noticeable on other roofs. I suspect these people tried to clean the the affected area with a harsh chemical - like bleach - and ended up bleaching the tiles.

    (I've seen similar results on paths and drives were household bleach has been used on bird/animal mess.)

    Thank you, it's all in the detail. hahah...where would one relocate the tv aerial (it's not a sky dish)

    There already is Sky dish, so you may not need an aerial at all. You can mount the aerial in the attic, if the signal is strong (Google freeview signal strength postcode for the answer). You could put it on the other side of the chimney, and stain the side of the house brickwork, or you could just leave it be, let the roof be a roof, and worry about the important things in life.

    Could it be as simple as that bit or roof has been repaired so a different batch of tiles, or even when it was first built a different batch of tiles was used that has weathered differently on that bit.
