How does switching work with a prepayment meter? Does the new supplier send you a branded key or card to use with the same meter? Thanks

Yup
Your new supplier will send out a new key/card a week or so before you're due to switch over.
Then on the switch date, stick the new key/card into the meter to set things up and then use as normal.
Though try and use up any remaining credit before using the new key/card. They say sometimes using a new key/card can wipe the credit from the meter. So better safe than having to wait 2 months for your old suppler to send out the remaining credit back to you.
Depending on the supplier you may get an envelope to send the old key/card back.Laters
