Advice on short term fix for bathroom

Hi All
The other half and I are in the process of finalizing the purchase of our first property with a view to complete in January.
Just need a bit of advice really, and perhaps a few ideas thrown at me.
One of the things that needs sorting in the property is the bathroom. Currently, the bathroom is very small 5' x 8' approx. It currently has a bath (no shower attached) and a basin along the right-hand side and a separate toilet downstairs. We are planning to put in a toilet upstairs by stealing some of the space in the third bedroom and at the same time, we'd like to redo the bathroom itself.
The first objective is to get the loo in upstairs (as neither of us fancy trekking downstairs in the middle of the night!) but in the meantime, we don't have a shower, only the bath. Can anyone recommend a temporary fix for this? Is there something we can buy that's relatively cheap that we can replace the taps with to incorporate a shower head and something we can fix it the wall with, in order to have a stand-up shower?
Longer term, the idea is to get a double ended bath with taps and a shower in the middle, and a curtain ring to pull around when showering. We have an issue whereby the end of the bath meets the wall where the window is, so a shower on this wall isn't possible and the other end where the bath ends, is where the basin is.
We've also thought about shifting the bath up so it meets the wall where the door is, but this is too narrow. (I wasn't joking when I said it was small!)
Any ideas on both of the above will be welcomed with open arms, unfortunately, we fell head over heels in love with the rest of the house and the only downside is this little bathroom!
Many Thanks in Advance.

I'd be tempted to get a thermostatic mixer tap/shower. Much easier to achieve a stable temperature that shouldn't fluctuate too much if someone opens a tap downstairs.

Thanks, Sevenhills,
Unfortunately, our window comes over much further than what you picture shows.
I also don't like the look of the shower curtain going over the window.
I think we've worked out we can squeeze in a 1500mm bath under the window now.0 -
A floorplan would be helpful. Not just for the bathroom but for the upstairs, so it’s in context, please.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

for a temp solution does it matter, once you are knocking walls about to fit in a toilet you can deal with the make it look nice.
if enough space once the walls are moved could go bath and separate shower.0 -
Of course
I have a floorplan on my computer, how do I upload this? Apologies for my ignorance!0 -
most use an image sharing site and use a link0

Annoyingly it says I can't post a URL because i'm a new member!0

I think you can post a web address if you remove the "http://" or "https://" part so the forum doesn't make it into a link. Other can then copy-and-paste it.0
