Box Junction Fine - Worth Appealing?

I got a notice in the post today for stopping in this box junction

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Horns+Rd,+Ilford+IG6+1DF/@51.5753542,0.0837512,127m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x47d8a6a2e4240b81:0xc7f0c1f06c5b2d6d!8m2!3d51.5802772!4d0.0838108?hl=en

I was travelling south and in the photo the rear 2/3 of my car are in the box junction, I remember the day, there would have been enough room had the car in front left a normal space, but they didn't pull forward and left a huge gap in front of them leaving my rear stuck in the box.

As you can see from the link the box extend far beyond the point that it is possible to cause an obstruction, I'm not really sure why it's so long. The cameras are new btw, no doubt a nice little money maker for the council.

Funny thing is encroaching the box from the front end is a police van, they're over the border by about the same length as me, I wonder if they got a fine too :rotfl:

Anyway, any opinions as to whether it's worth a fight? Or should i just suck it up?

I think youre sucking it up.

On what grounds would you want to appeal? If your hoping someone will give you one, i think you know your off to a bad start.

I don't know, that's why I'm asking. People appeal all sorts. I didn't want to just pay it then read something here and thing doh! Nobody likes to waste £65 if they don't have to ;)

Wrong place on this forum, as we tend to major on private parking tickets here. PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Register there (but please note that a hotmail address won't work) and post a new thread; here's your link:

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print.

PePiPoo has an excellent success record in dealing with council tickets.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Fair enough, although i must point out that youre only looking at not wasting £65 at the point youve already (in all likelihood) wasted it.

Personally i lock my front door at night instead of your unlocked approach of sleeping with a baseball bat. Something to bear in mind?
