I need to send my credit card details by a non-secure means (e-mail or fax ) to Botswana to pay for a national park booking.
I'm sure I've heard of 'disposable' credit cards.
But can't find anything on my card providers' web sites (Halifax, Barclaycard, mbna).
And a general search just seems to throw up US banks stuff.
Does anyone know how I do this please?

The only one I know which provides disposable virtual cards is a prepaid card called Neteller. You get the first one free and you pay for subsequent ones.
But the above won't protect you from future unauthorised transactions because they will still be honoured even if you delete the card if you have a balance on your account. For that protection go for a card which can be turned off or turned off for certain transactions. Soldo is a prepaid card which does that and so is Revolut.
But any prepaid card will work for you: Top it up, make the transaction and don't top it up again.0 -
Cahoot offered this when I had an account with them around 2002
Bloody great idea and not sure why it hasn’t taken off.
You could generate a one-time credit card number which expired that month (or next month - don’t exactly recall) and also set a ‘limit’ for how much could be spent on it. It gave you the CCV too.
If anyone knows of a similar service with a ‘standard’ credit card rather than a prepaid jobbie, I would love to get it again.0
