Help needed Capital One Plevin Claim

I wonder if anyone can help me by looking at these figures please, I submitted a claim to Capital One via Resolver on 30 November, on 6 December I checked my credit card on line and these figures were on the transaction list
PPI Plevin Finance Charge £666.24 (credit)
PPI Plevin Goodwill - ERC £368.10 (credit)
PPI Plevin Fee Refunds £96.00 (credit)
PPI Plevin Premium £314.41 (credit)

  • Arghh, pressed a button and it posted before I'd finished! so continued...
    Purchase Adjustment £1371.13 (debit)
Taxwitheld on Plevin Go £73.62 (debit)

As I have an outstanding balance on by card it has obviously been applied there, but it has made absolutely no difference to my balance at all (its the same now as it was on 5th December) I have had no email, no paper correspondence or anything so am struggling to understand what's going on!
  • I suspect it may be the case they processed the amounts through your card (possibly because you have an open account with them) and have then reversed that out so they can send you eg a cheque instead.

I think you will need to contact them to be sure.
  • Many Thanks

Did you submit the claim after receiving a letter from capital one?

I submitted mine via resolver just before you, but have yet to hear from them. Wasn't expecting they'd be replying so quickly

I submitted my claim via resolver after a letter from Capital One, I was also surprised how quickly they sorted it out, less than 6 days!, I got written confirmation yesterday advising a cheque will be sent out to me within 10 days.

Thanks, I did mine on the 29th Nov so maybe I'll hear soon too!
  • Used resolver to reclaim from capital one on 29/11/17. Received letter on 28/12/17 and cheque on the way for £1887. Result. Thanks

I also submitted through Resolver and got my letter confirming the amount :
    £597 unfair commission
    £0 charges
    £126.98 associated interest
    £17.85 of 8% interest
Minus £3.57 8% interest for Hmrc.

Because its a closed account they've deducted it from the balance which is fine, but like PPI claims I thought that the interest charged wouldn't be used against the debt, can anyone clarify this please.
    Cheers
  • Hi,
can I please ask did you get a refund for the total amount which was debited as the "purchase adjustment" or was it for a lesser amount? I submitted a Plevin request approx 1 month ago and when I got my CC statement today I can see the same kind of credits and debits have been applied. So reading through this and similar threads, I am hopeful that I may be due to receive a letter from Capital one to say my claim has been successful, along with a refund cheque, and am wondering which of the amounts it may be for?
    TIA
