this is something i have thought about a whilst back. havent watched all the video yet but it is so obvious that we shouldnt and dont live in a zero sum game. therefore inequality is ok, in fact inequality is a good thing.

I think you're confusing inequality with some people having more money than others.

I agree that we don't live in a zero sum game by it's true definition, but wealth is relative. So if I had £100 then it would depend on how much money everyone else had that would determine how wealthy I am.

watch the video before thinking this. some people having more money then others is inequality and its not necessarily a bad thing.

wealth is not just measured by money. if you have £100 and i have £10000 there is clearly inequality. but what did i do to make the £1000? if i got this by producing goods and services to you who spent £10 and are now left with £90 surely you gained value from the £10 purchase that exceeds £10?

so what is wrong with this inequality that clearly exists between you and i? the answer is nothing.

It's a bit long and I see through him, so I'm unlikely to have an epiphany while watching him. Maybe when I'm less tired.

It's not necessarily bad that some people have more money than others. Maybe we stared with the same amount and you spent all yours on sweets. Maybe you inherited money, but then you could also inherit family good looks as well None of that makes us inequal, and shouldn't.

Degrees aren't inherently valuable, it's what you do with it that counts.

what does this even mean? i think you are contradicting yourself. if degrees arent valuable then how can you do anything with it?

well clearly if i am better looking then you or have more money then you then we are unequal. i will be more likely to be an actor or a model then you. i will also be more likely to have a comfortable life then you. but the point is that whats unfair about that? It isnt (unless i got the money by stealing). The problem i think you have and society has is a lot of people compare them selves to others. the point is one needs to be satisfied with ones own life and make the best of their own personal situation. there will always be inequality but thats fine. problem is lot of people go on and on about thinking they deserve it as well when clearly they have shown they dont.
