Something bothers me about the downstairs layout. I think I get the intention but perhaps it could have been done better. Horses for courses it depends how you live and whether that space suits you.
But I would do some research to find out what the original layout was and ask a question about whether it has full planning and building control sign off before you offer / consider a full structural survey.
The third bedroom looks weeny, check it can even take a single if you intend to use it that way.0 -

I think you had a lucky escape. With that thin wall enclosing the kitchen, it looked like a cheap holiday chalet to me. As someone else has said, open plan to make a tiny living area look larger, but failing.0
