I've just received a First Direct offer with my latest Amazon purchase:
call 0800 242424 or go to firstdirect.com, open an account qoting the Amazon ref LV151, get your salary/income transferred before 31/08/05, and they'll give you £50 within a month.
The conditions state that they'll check you're an Amazon cutomer, so you'll need to buy something... maybe a Motorola 'phone for £19.99

I received a similar offer, but not requiring an Amazon purchase. £50 incentive to new customers, salary transfer required:
