What years was BBC2 first broadcast?

I think those are similar to the ones I remember, but of course they were much bigger in my day:rotfl::rotfl: (wasn't everything). We used to get them from the chip shop, they were triangular and by the time I'd finished one my mouth was sore from the ice crystals. Happy days, eh.

The question was whether I could remember these things happening. A lot of things have happened during my lifetime that I cannot remember (sometimes I can barely remember what day of the week it is:rotfl:). As a child I was probably more interested in what I might be able to watch on tv than the death of an eminent politician.

I find it hard to distinguish now from actual memories and things I was told happened when I was young.

Oh my youngest son will love you do you know Dr Who? ;)

I have been a Whovian since the days of watching Patrick Troughton (my mum sat next to him on the tube once) from behind the sofa. Though obviously Jon Pertwee was my favourite.

I remember that as a kid - it had Leslie Phillips in it as well if I remember correctly.
