just posted a comp to win toys from the Entertainer Catalogue - it's even the Christmas Catalogue and as it's daily it could be called an Advent

Thanks for taking up the challenge folks. Congrats to everyone who has posted. My original idea was that it would only go on for a week in total, so that aspella (being the first to comment on this thread that she had posted), would set another posting challenge straight away, but if you would all sooner leave this letter c challenge open until Saturday, to see who else can post one, then that's fine by me and aspella can start a new one on Saturday for the following week, so we all get to have a go. Just thought the thread had gone a bit flat lately and it seemed to need livening up.

Ello, Guess who`s back again

I think it`s been a few months since I was last here. Unfortunately, After a long string of no wins the comping bug left me and I fell out of love with comping. On top of that I have been busy and it`s now a case of giving something up to make more time. Where as I did comping to make money, I now have other ventures which are more reliable and convenient to make money from and what was once a hobby is now turning into a job in itself.

I am constantly working and earning money that it`s the only two things I seem to do these days. Also, circumstances have changed. My actual real life job is paying me good money now, So I don`t need to scrimp and save as much as I used too. One has a boyfriend who she intends to keep ;), Yeah he needs constant attention so If I wanna keep him

But I did have a few minutes spare and I did just enter a few web competitions, Saw some really good Twitter competitions, But I just can`t enter them. They are time consuming and I never seem to get a win  and that`s where all the good prizes are.

I am hoping to be back for Christmas, I really enjoyed the Christmas chaos last year :j. Lots of people were moaning about it, but I was having the time of my life. So hoping to be back for that and in the mean time I`m hoping I can enter a few competitions occasionally and then pop in here and annoy you all. I`m still hoping to win lingerie for the newt ;).

I`m sorry if this post seems jumbled or made no sense but I had to do right before work.
2017 Wins - Coco Pops, £100 Amazon voucher, Elf T-shirt, £250 Zalando Voucher and £250 FeelUnique Voucher, private gig concerts
2018 Wins - Steep xbox game, 2 tangle teezer, Contagion Book, JC Annual, water sports bottle, 10p, 2 cricket tickets, can of fizz, 10p, Ribenia, Johnson baby products

well my daughters prize from nat geo kids turned up, it is a completely different prize (1 item has been substituted and another is coming in novemeber) but i definitely think she will prefer this prize any way!
instead of the jurassic park bundle she won, she has received an outdoor toy bundle (water wubble, marble wubble, 2 x phlat balls) :)

    Welcome back Emma!
    That's good then Lucinad.

Two of my bunnies have just won a competition, it was £2 an entry for charity, I only entered with one photo and they won! I have to collect the prize so won't know what I have won until I'm able to collect. Chuffed :D Love my beautiful babies. I don't usually pay to enter anything but this one was for the animal charity.
Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.
  • I picked up a win from the post office today- a limited edition print.
That's definitely an item for the home and I was only waiting on something for living room so I've finally completed challenge 39!

    Hooray

Welcome back Emma, I know what you mean about the Christmas rush. It was busy but I enjoyed it too, and actually had quite a number of wins last December. Hoping for similar luck this year....

It's nice to see the challenge thread getting a bit busier again now. I'm beginning to think competitions go on holiday over summer and start building up again towards Christmas.
Living thriftily ;) most of the time

We're over three quarters of the way through this challenge so my challenge to you all this week is to post a progress report.

    Monthly challenges completed: 10/12
(2 cash prizes allocated as an alternative)
    Easy challenges completed: 21/25
(I'm on track to complete challenge 37 - post one competition per month)
    Hard challenges completed: 12/25
    Total challenges completed: 45/70

Best entry method: Good old fashioned email
Worst entry method: Gleam (FB, IG & TW as I don't use them)

Best prize: Meaco Air Purifier from Country Living. I never would of bought one of these but I'm really impressed with it.

A few sentences on how the year has gone so far. Is it better or worst than last year.
I've won little and often every month but the majority of prizes have been less than £20. I'm disappointed with the lack of high value items especially compared to last year when I had a £100+ prize every couple of months. On the plus side I've had some nice cash prizes this year.

Focus your energy on trying to achieve a challenge that you've not completed so far. Tell us what challenge you've selected and what your going to do this week to try and achieve it.

    Monthly challenges completed:4/12
    Easy challenges completed:16/25
    Hard challenges completed:12/25
    Total challenges completed: 35/70

    Best entry method: web
Worst entry method:facebook (don't use it)

Best prize: 12 months sky plus and a tv

A few sentences on how the year has gone so far. Is it better or worst than last year.
Better than last year.January was amazing. Best month for years. It has all been downhill from there. A few reasonable prizes, but mostly 20p wins or ribena.

Focus your energy on trying to achieve a challenge that you've not completed so far. Tell us what challenge you've selected and what your going to do this week to try and achieve it.
For example: challenge 13 Toy - I'll enter the toy competitions on the mag dailies everyday or I'll go through the toy category on CDB or PF.

I'm going on holiday next week, so will pass on this part of the challenge, as I've already done gone a whole day without entering any competitions challenge.

An extra small challenge for those of you that want to:
Posters: Post a competition which has the letters AND or ALL somewhere in the title.
Example: E: 01/12 Hall Pass DVD - thanks for hosting website name

    Posted one with all

    E: 15/10 ? a months supply of boostball (tw)

    and one with and

    E: 31/10 SpyroTheDragon candles (tw)

Non-posters: Find a competition currently on the forum that contains the letters AND or ALL somewhere in the title.
Example: E: 01/12 Hall Pass DVD - thanks for posting members name

The letters can be anywhere (beginning, middle or end of a word) but once a word has been used no one else can use it.

We're over three quarters of the way through this challenge so my challenge to you all this week is to post a progress report.

    Monthly challenges completed: 07/12
    Easy challenges completed: 12/25
    Hard challenges completed: 08/25
    Total challenges completed: 32/70

    Best entry method: Gleam
    Worst entry method: Twitter

Best prize this year: £50 Pets at Home Voucher

A few sentences on how the year has gone so far. Is it better or worst than last year.
Worst year than last year, but have used or been able to gift most items.

Challenge (67) I have won a Twitter competition
I will focus more on entering Twitter competitions and clear my Twitter wall to give me more of a chance - not very hopeful though!

I collected my prize and my bunnies received a bag of hay, 2x bag of foraging mix, 1 bag of dried apple pieces, fibre sticks, a blanket each and a winning certificate. Delighted with them. Number 26 crossed off.

I'm having a very bad comping couple of months, I've entered double the amount I usually do in a day and hopefully keep it up and see if any wins head my way. Would love to win even a chocolate bar at this moment in time.
Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.
