Today I got my boiler and central heating cover renewal in the post. What a shock, £396.92 this was covering my 11yr old boiler and C/H I phoned them and got it down to £228 but I told them I would cancel and look around. I have found some more cover but it's £8 a month with £75 excess. Have I done right by accepting this? been on my own I find that I doubt myself afterwards, I have got 14 days cooling off period. Forgot to say my old policy included a replacement boiler if it couldn't be repaired

You have still saved £57pa, assuming no more than one call out per year.
How many times have you used this cover in the past 11 years, bearing in mind that the boiler probably had a 5 year warranty anyway?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
