Is this really any good - I know you get extra pts, but at £1.50 or so for about £4 in deals, I personally don't think it's worth it.

I would rather wait around for the 1000pts for grocery shopping vouchers that appear every so often where you only have to buy your normal shop and get the pts in one hit, rather than spending out money on just 100pts a time.

This works great for me as I am booking my honeymoon through virgin holidays so it is a cost I would normally have to pay in cash. Therefore, I can pay less in cash to get the same product!

Bumbles - whilst I am a great advocate of this system and have myself bought a lot of talc I woudl recommend you do your sums if you are not paying for your virgin holiday in full. If you use clubcard deals for a virgin holiday you are forced to book through their telephone booking line (and you can forget looking up the prices on internet first as these have a discount applied apprarently). Often when you call the booking line you find the prices are more expensive by about 10% - therefore a holiday on their website costing £1000 ends up costing £1100 if you use deals vouchers...

What I am saying is that if your honeymoon is costing let's say £2000 then when you ring the deals line make sure they aren't charging you more for the same holiday (I think they might try). If your holiday is then costing you £2200 (As I suspect it might) and you are paying £200 of it with deals then you aren't really saving anything as you could have got a cheaper price booking direct and paying cash without using your tesco deals vouchers.

If however you are saving up vouchers to pay for your entire honeymoon/holiday then ignore all of my comments and most importantly hope you have a lovely time!

Thank you for the avice and I really do appreciate it. However, I am booking through Virgin Holidays as I already get 20% off (through work) and I have already enquired as to whether I can use the vouchers as well, the answer being yes. So you can see this is an excellent saving for me!!

Not to mention I still have wedding rings to buy and I believe Goldsmiths is on the list also.
  • Help! Just got back from the Tesco Express down the road - bought up 8 bottles of the Baby Powder, but no bonus clubcard points! The statement on the reciept shows 6 points for my £6.32 spend, rather than 400 points! Any ideas?

EDIT: Just read the earlier posts. Perhaps the instructions on the front page could be updated to warn that this offer does NOT apply in Tesco Express stores.
  • It appears from reading the thread that no-one has tried to place a bulk order with customer services in store for instore collection.

I did this with the beef in gravy loophole .... just walked up and asked if i could place a bulk order for 1500 packets. No problem they will be here on tuesday they said.

Tuesday came and so did my beef ... got a lot of funny looks stuffing it all in my car ..... and before anybody asks what i did with it all 90% was donated to homeless shelters and other various local charities.

It was a quick and easy way and alltogether i ended up with about 90,000 points which paid for my nice new MFI kitchen.

I am going to try this in a couple of days ... again a quick way to get my next florida holiday!

  • Must admit I thought I was being clever in buying the 100ml J&J shampoo - don't use talc and I thought the small bottles would come in handy for holidays.

Anyway it didn't ring up the extra 100 points and on (personal) investigation it turns out that this product doesn't have the yellow sticker.

I did chance my luck today at CS and she gave me the 100 points so I don't know if it is a case of the product isn't in the offer and she couldn't be bothered to argue with me or whether the yellow sticker should be there and isn't ....if you see what I mean.

I bought a load of the moisturising cream which I will be donating to my 4 month old neice & nephew......I must admit I didn't go for the talc for the reasons already mentioned.

  • I went to Tesco late yesterday and they had no talc or cream left but a helpful young man advised me they would restock the shelves last night after closing.
My points last night meant that I just had to put 75 quid to towards OH watch at 575 GBP, but a quick trip to Tesco this morning and a covert raid on the johnsons shelf now means that the watch will be fully paid for by the vouchers!
As for all the cream and talc, I'm either going to give it away at school, see if any nursing homes want it, or stick it in the foyer at preschool with a collection box asking for donations and then the money in that will be donated to school funds!

Mr T delivered last night substituted large baby powder for small. I refused substituion. Will they take the points back?
The same applied to us on our Friday delivery they changed 10 small talc into the large ones because i said not to substtute them i sent them all back. We were getting short of ear buds so i asked for 6 of them i also said in my edit note to only pick even numbers they sent 3 so i also sent the one back just looked at tesco account and noticed that the points have been credited.

  • Went to my local tescos today and they had loads of stock, so I got quite a bit. I'm racking the points up nicely now but I'm sure there's some out there that have got thousands and will make my few hundred look like nothing!
Out of interest how many points have people managed to get over the last few days, since this offer started?

Been gathering up quite a collection of points over the last few days. Must have got 1500 points - Our third child is due in January so this is all stuff we would have been buying anyway! Oh, and we're getting 10% staff discount on everything as well!

    Every little helps! ;)
