    This maths teacher points out that tangents have meaning outside maths too. The literary meaning was clearly the one that applied in this case.

    Yay - that's brilliant!

    I can tell that you're used to dealing with bolshy kids. (Which seems to be the right kind of level for some of the contributors here.)

    I think letters home to parents and carers should be the next step.

    As a landlord if a key is mislaid I'd replace the lock, more expensive.

    £5 says YOUR insurance won't pay out if stuff is stolen without forced entry & key mislaid.

    Oh the stress of the new au-pair:. Poor you.
