If I had my time again I wouldn't have moved to this house I am in now! I would have overpaid my mortgage and would be mortgage free now! I am 51 and to have that freedom in a house which is low maintenance would be sheer bliss now.
I share this as I don't know how old you are but owning your home is freedom to choose when your child has left home and you gives you real choices when you're older!
You seem to doing a lot of things right and you should be proud of how far you have come.0 -
thank you, i always want to move somewhere better, and I am learning that you should just be happy with what you, once my debt is paid I will reevaluate the situation.0

Just an update on this post and any thoughts from anyone.
my child starts school this year and it will be over an hour away from me, I currently have a joint arrangement with his mum of 50 / 50, So I have put my house on the market its been quite e hard decision in terms of moving away from my family we both spend lots of time with them but I want to be around, an hour does not sound a lot but it would be a 2 hour round trip for pick ups from school, anyway selling the house will allow me to completely clear all my debts the downside is I will be renting until I save enough for a deposit, the mortgage payments are very low currently so it will be double, I have done my estimated budgets including saving, it will be nice to be completely debt free and start again, in spite of all this I still keep wondering if it is still the right thing to do, I feel it is for my child's sake the commutes currently back to his mum are long add that into evening traffic and school runs and it will be pretty bad, i guess im just after some other views.0
