Research & Some Books To Read

In 2018 I'll receive some money and after helping with my daughters house purchase deposit, reducing/removing a loan, a mortgage and buying/building a T6 campervan I'll have about £100,000 left over which I want to invest. I won't really need quick access to the investment as I will have a separate monthly income.
This forum looks like a good place to start asking for advice, I've also had a look around This Is Money, I am a complete novice with no financial investment background.
What other places should I look to for advice, which books, magazines, websites are worth a read before I go it alone or put my trust in a financial advisor.
Thanks

A couple of sites I visit are Monevator http://monevator.com/category/investing/passive-investing-investing/
and DIY Investor http://diyinvestoruk.blogspot.co.uk/p/basics.html
For books, I like 'DIY Simple Investing' by Edwards, 'Smarter Investing' by Hale and Bogle's 'Little Book of Common Sense Investing'0 -
Agree with all of the above. Smarter Investing by Tim Hale is a really good book to read before you start investing.A couple of sites I visit are Monevator http://monevator.com/category/investing/passive-investing-investing/

Another vote for Monevator (and various other blogs linked from it) and a previous thread on the same subject: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5043692Eco Miser
