Hello, now that The Archers is available on podcast
, I thought I'd download some software. I've tried Juice and Doppler (recommended on the Radio 4 site) but both give an error mesage when I try to run them
I have a new laptop with Windows Vista.
Can anyone solve my problem?

Either - I believe that once I've downloaded as a podcast, I can listen on my PC (using Windows media player or Real Player), or put it onto my MP3 for later
I currently listen to a lot of Radio 4 on Listen Again, but this only works with a live internet connection, and I can't transfer to my MP3.
I started at the page you gave in the link, but I first need to download software.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Download it in itunes, then right click on the podcast in itunes and click on "convert selection to mp3"."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

I've found Itunes really is the best way to get podcasts.
(Lots of people will probably post that they detest Itunes and I think it's the case that you'll either really hate it or really love it).
Itunes
They've got the best directory of podcasts so you might find other things in there you'll also like.
I also use Itunes Sync to get podcasts from Itunes into my mp3 player
Don't forget MSE also has podcasts

There's no need to install any extra software to download or play the podcast if you don't want to.
1. From custardy's link in post 2, scroll down the page to where it says 'Latest Episodes,'
2. Right click on 'Download Episode,' then click on 'Save target as.'
3. Save it to where you want and it'll download.
4. Once downloaded, the podcast will play in whatever Media Player you have as your default.Dave. :wave:0 -
Just add http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/radio4/archers/rss.xml to you personal google homepage0

i too am trying to download archers podcasts and having trouble understanding some stuff.
when i click on download it doesnt give me the option to save as, it just sends it straight to windows media player and starts playing. i cant find where its saved the episode to and if i try and download another episode it replaces the other one. i only have one listed at a time. i have looked in my files and cant find where its gone, i assume it must be somewhere!!
i want to be able to download a few episodes and put them on an mp3 (not ipod)
any ideas clever people.Ready to Go Go!0 -

Even better - I've not needed to convert to MP3; just copy and paste to my MP3 player.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
