Old YBS Savings Account

Hi my mother had an old savings account with Yorkshire building society she had not used the account since March 2003 so she had YBS update her savings book (account) and they only gave interest from March 2017 to November 2017 nothing in between, I questioned it but YBS said it’s right what they have done?! No interest from 2003 ?

Is there anything in the book giving an account name and issue number? We should then be able to find at least some of the previous rates to indicate whether it's likely to be correct.

Roughly how much was in the account? Some accounts have a balance below which interest is not payable. Equally the account may have been at something like 0.01%, which on a low balance would not register any interest.
