Beware of Amazon offering you a £10.00 discount when you apply for an Amazon Credit Card. I spent an hour going through all the crap to open a card account to save £10.00 on an approx.. £35.00 purchase.
I was accepted but found my order was unchanged and went through without the Supposed £10.00 discount.
I couldn’t find a number to call them but with this link.....
you can enter your number for them to call you back.
I ran out of time and just gave up on the £10.00.

The next day I found a £3.99 debit to Amazon from my bank account. I needed to speak to someone. After an hour of searching their site I found a link for a live chat.

After yet another hour I gave up. See what you think of the chat.

The chat looks fine to me, apart from the random blocks of CAPS!

It seems pretty clear to me that either somebody else has used your card (so get people who you allow to use your card to check) or your card has been used fraudulently, neither of which is Amazon's fault. If you are 100% sure that nobody has used your card with permission, why don't you contact your bank? When asking your family to check their accounts, they are probably looking for a digital item like Kindle books (very easy to buy through the app and forget about it), or something like an Amazon video.

You have given away quite abit of personal information in that chat and the charge doesn't seem to be the fault of Amazon considering your card has been used on another account.

But using that information someone could easily contact you pretending to be from Amazon and requesting your card details so they can "refund" you.

I found it nice and easy to open an Amazon credit card account - the card is provided by Newday, I could use the card instantly on Amazon and the £10 gift card was credited to my account immediately.

Other peoples mileage may vary, of course.

I was curious as to why we need to beware signing up for the Amazon credit card.

Seems that was working but you didnt complete it or maybe got declined?

I was tempted to apply this morning, £10 off my £70 item. I dont want another CC though. So didnt bother with it.

Bought an echo recently? That will sign you up for a £3.99 a month part of unlimited music.
