Funding for bankruptcy fees

I used a CC for the fees for myself and OH........we had no choice . The OR never queried it at all. I was taking out cash from CC for other living expenses too , again this was not queried. I guess they realise that (like in my instance) if you have no other means of buying food, paying utility bills ...etc...etc... then CC is the way.

We have decided that we will raise as much of the fees ourselves for OH bankruptcy but as we want it done quickly due to OH suffering anxiety and depression and i'm totally stressed out with trying to help ( both us are under the GP), and keep the household and 3 kids running smoothly neither of us can stand the thought of having phone calls and letters from our creditors i might just use the CC for the extra we need once we have the new bank account details through (Barclays have told me it takes up to 10 working days so nearly there now).We love what we are doing and we love why we're doing it!!0

PP you sound as though you should take the lot out of the cc. not point myself your and your OH's health. sorry you feature the words anxiety and depression. i had depression last year after i left my partner and had to live in women's refuge. it was awful, and it took some time to make myself feel better. the fact i was in debt and had no cash only added to this. the thing about being ill that i found was that it just doesn;t get better even if the circumstances change rapidly, there is still a kinda knock-on. my advice use the cc fees because if saving would make you ill - what's the point? that would allow some free time and a period to clarify your state of affairs and work exactky how much you have to live on from that point forward. biggy hugs xxSaving £12k in 2015

Thanks everyone
Its definately an emotional rollercoaster, feeling relieved one minute, sick to the pit of stomach next, everything whizzing around your head at 3 am , but its something that had to happen.
Have almost got everything in place, Barclays seem to be taking ages (prob just standard time though) to send me the new account details, have had to start cancelling DDs to teh creditors which is terrifying me, have started filling in the bankcruptcy forms so everything is moving along.
I think its hard actually making the decision to go bancrupt, i also think its harder still getting to the next post of actually filing (arranging bank accounts, filling in forms, cancelling DDs and trying to make everything tie in and run as smoothly as is possible) and then i suppose its the worry about the OR interview after that, if anyone says its an easy road it most certainly isn't but being able to see a light at the end of the tunnel is what is keeping me going, we couldn't have carried on as we were, we were slowly sinking deeper and deeper, our marriage although very strong(has had to be with all the happenings but thats another story but has contributed to us being in this stuation now) nearly ended this time and looking back how we have managed i really don't know. Time to have a fresh start put the past behind us and start living again (without credit)We love what we are doing and we love why we're doing it!!0 -
I've added a page to my website on the money advice pages for sources of funding for bankruptcy fees, at
homepage.ntlworld.com/stuart.blackstock/funding/bankruptcy_fees.html
It might help if you edit the link to add http to the front of the link, as this site won't allow direct links that can just be clicked on, to be added, so you'll need to copy and paste the web address into your browser to get there.
If anyone knows of any other charities who assist with fees, I'd appreciate an email with the details so I can add them to the list.0 -
HI,
I went to the CAB who put me thru to the Association of Charitable Organisations. After speaking to them, they sent me info on 4 compatible charities one of which has just granted both mine & oh full fees. Just waiting for chq but delayed due to postal strikes in London....BSC 289A life lived in fear is a life not living!Proud to have dealt with my debts.0
