Tesco credit cards being reissued

seems like a convenient time to do it, are they trying to limit their debt exposure during the xmas run up?
what possible reason could there be to cancel cards and then take 10 days to send out a replacement?0 -
Nada. But my Tesco Bank c/c is a BT card. All I've received from Tesco Bank was by post which was advice about a revision of the T&Cs of the Internet Saver and instant Access Savings Account. That was dated October 2017.0

yeah now you explained this I agree, they disabling cards for up to 10 days in the busiest shopping period of the year, very weird.
Instead it would be better if they sent the new cards first and then had the customer disable the old card upon its arrival but this is enforced prevention of using the card.0 -
I have had a text, and they have cancelled my card with immediate effect. I have only used it with 'normal' high street retailers and amazon, so not sure where the problem is - but I have phoned Tesco and they said it affects a large amount of customers.0

Only some Tesco cc’s are being cancelled.
I enjoyed a sandwich today via contactless Tesco cc.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -
Some bizarre comments on here, quite uninformed really.
Banks make money on every transaction so they more customers spend the better. The “exposure” is already there and measured.
Also all banks will do similar if they believe accounts have been compromised.
10 days for new card ain’t great all the same but not entirely unique to Tesco.
The timing is particularly bad but hardly delibertate.0 -
I’m guessing it’s only cards that have been used for online services that are at risk. When I first got my card, I tried to use it to buy something from currys. When I realised that I’d have to go through the faff of ‘verified by someone or other’ I used my Barclaycard instead. So.....I can’t be bothered using it to shop online.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

Update here, the replacement card arrive on the 9th, so 5 days rather than the expected 9-11 days.Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0
